Dambulla Caves. Dating back to the 1st century BC, this is the most impressive cave temple in Asia. It has five caves under a vast overhanging rock, carved with a drip line to keep the interiors dry. In 1938 the architecture was embellished with arched colonnades and gabled entrances. Inside the caves, the ceilings are painted with intricate patterns of religious images following the contours of the rock.
There are seven wells in a square shape. Wells are only 3–4 feet deep and you can clearly see the bottom. The temperature is considerably high but vary slightly from one spring to another
The island is beautiful rock pools with white sands and glittering coral gardens norkelling almost as satisfying as diving, and it’s home to dozens of corals, hundreds of reef fish (including blacktip reef sharks) and turtles

Day 1. Airport | Nilaveli
Arrival (Airport to Dambulla – 128Km – 3h ) After pickup from Airport transfer to Dambulla and visit UNESCO world heritage site the Dambulla Royal Cave Temple. Evening (Dambulla to Nilaveli – 121 Km – 2h -15min) we will visit The pigeon island national park situated 01km off the coast of Nilaveli, A coastal town in Eastern province. The island’s name derives from the rock pigeon which has colonized it. The national park contains some of the best remaining coral reefs of Sri Lanka. Pigeon Island was designed as a sanctuary in 1963. In 2003 it was redesigned as a national park.
Day 2. Trincomalee
Early in the morning go to the Nelavelli beach for watching Dolphin and Whales. Evening we will visit Hotspring & Koneswaram Temple. A place that you should not miss, if you travel to Sri Lanka. Nilaveli beach is one of the purest white sand beaches in Asia. The pristine beach which is very popular among sun worshipper s is quite serene and the crystal clear blue water is so breathtaking that it would be a memorable stay for you. It is very popular for whales watching.
