The reserve covers 30,821 hectares (119.00 sq mi) of land area and it was established on 30 June 1972. The park is 165 kilometres (103 mi) from Colombo. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds, Sri Lankan elephants, Water Buffalo, Water Monitor, Lizards, Sambar Deer, Monkeys and the occasional Leopard, as well as being an exciting location for Bird enthusiasts.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Colombo city or Airport, by our chauffeur guide and commence the day tour to Udawalawe National Park with convenient round-trip transportation, you can relax on the transfers to and from Colombo.

We will visit (Airport to Udawalawe - 173 km - 4hours ) Udawalawe National Park by evening where you will meet safari jeep to go on a lovely jeep safari. Enjoy a three-hour safari which would give you a chance to explore the amazing Udawalawe National Park. Travel through the marshes, forests, and grasslands of the park that was created as a sanctuary for wildlife in the 1970s. See the water birds and Sri Lankan elephants for which the park is famed. Catch glimpses of the other mammals and birds, as well as the reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies. After the safari, you will return to your vehicle and you’ll get back to the hotel by 10:00 pm, completing your tour
